While the majority of the world remains dormant (probably covered in white powdery snow) we were out-and-about receiving our dose of vitamin D. We had a full week of 75 degree weather and clear skies; a perfect winter day in Southern California. We set out early in the morning down the Pacific Coast Highway for a quick doggy adventure. Tagging along was a box full of colorful Zogoflex dog toys by West Paw Design. After arriving at one of our favorite Malibu beaches, my eye went straight for the Zisc frisbee, but only because I wanted to throw it in the trash with the rest of the frisbees I've used in the past. One of the main reasons I'm not a fan of traditional frisbees is because they always bust my dogs' mouths and gums--either the plastic construction of the frisbee is too hard or the perforations left in them by dog teeth seem to be the cause. Whatever the case, I've settled on softer toys that are meant to be caught in midair. Once we gave the Zisc a whirl, we never really made it to the other dog toys. Our play-date didn't get cut short, the Zisc just happened to be what I was looking for in a frisbee all this time. Time literally flew by after hours of catching, keep-away, tossing, tugging, and swimming. Leila's lips and gums weren't busted open after playing with this pliable, yet super durable frisbee. Design and construction Though pliable and soft, the Zisc can fly; granted it doesn't have the same hang-time as traditional frisbees, the Zisco still, is truly interactive with a flick of a wrist. Thanks to Zogoflex, the awesome material that makes up the Zisc, this frisbee is BPA and phthalate-free, non-toxic, buoyant, dishwasher safe, 100% recyclable, and of course made in the USA--all things dog owners look for in a dog toy, basically. Not more you can ask for.
